Never been to Kimberley before and with it only being 30 minutes drive I thought it would be a good test of where my fitness level is.
First of all it was hilly and with some interesting surfaces ranging from roads, cobbles, country lanes and muddy tracks. Thankfully it had been quite dry leading up to the race so it was not very muddy! As I have mentioned previously I am finding it difficult to regain my fitness after my injury induced layoff and again I found the race hard work struggling towards the end. But I got round in a slightly disappointing 52.17 which is nearly 7 minutes slower than my pb, though it would have been difficult to achieve a pb on the course even if fully fit.
Time: 52min 17sec (must try harder!)
