Still injured in fact although my ankle is slightly better I have some strange vein pain thing going on so another trip to the doctor is in order!
Determined to do the Great North Run, though at the moment it is not looking good, how pissed off am i?
Anyway, that's all very depressing! If I can't run then I can ride!
My brother, my lovely brother (you never know he may read this! I don't think anybody else is!) has lent me his bike and very nice it is too. So lots and lots more cycling is in order!

Missing running!

Officially injured!
Bugger!
No running for up to two weeks, lots of ibuprofen gel and cold compresses!
So the trick is trying to keep fit so some cycling is in order also increasing the press ups and sit ups. Have also got to keep an eye on what I am eating as I won’t be burning off as many calories.
What to do this weekend? Well I have a barbecue I could go to Saturday night and I am trying to get rid off a lot of the rubbish I seem to collect so a few trips to a ‘charidee’ shop to dispose of various books & cds.
The footy season kicks off tomorrow and the Mighty Magpies are playing Bradford at Meadow Lane, I predict a 3-1 home win!! Go Pies!!

Ruptured achilles!
I think!
Not happy!
Tried to run two miles last night managed half!
Doctors tonight though checking online will need about 14 days rest plus ibuprofen.
So will miss the Newark half and possible the Welbourn 10k, pissed off!
But have to try to get better for the Great North Run!

Still sore!
Did an hour and a half on the bike last night. From home to Sherwood Pines, round the park and back home. My ankle held up ok is still a little bit sore this morning but if I leave any running till Thursday it should, cross fingers, be ok!
Off out tonight, it is an ex colleagues 70th birthday party! None stop party action!!

Injured!
Have hurt my left ankle! After a six mile run on Thursday my ankle swelled up like a balloon it is a bit better today but still sore. Tried to run on it last night but was still quite painful.
Which is all a bit worrying as it is the Newark half marathon on Sunday and I am really looking forward to it as it will be the first race I will have run twice!
So I am planning on doing no running until at least Thursday when hopefully my ankle should be better. To keep my fitness levels up I am going to go cycling instead, a blast around Sherwood Pines tonight should get the blood flowing.
Was hoping to improve on my pb at Newark as the route is pretty flat apart from one largish hill at about mile 10 but thanks to the dodgy ankle and that at the moment it is 50:50 that I enter the race any improvement of my pb will have to wait. After Newark I have a two week gap until the Welbourn Castle 10k then pretty much a month until the Great North Run which I am running for ‘Guide Dogs for the Blind’ which I have to be fit for!
Do I run at Newark or not?
We shall see!
