Different route!
Perfect weather for a race however after the first kilometre we turned left instead of right!! It was a different route and I think better. Not as muddy and easier to pass people. My time was just over 48 minutes not too bad but I felt I was going faster. Nice technical t-shirt for all finishers in a very fetching red.
Congratulations to my friend Jordan who completed her second ever 10k in just over 1 hour 4 minutes, a half marathon next:)
So home in time for the mighty Notts County on the TV away at Sutton Utd.
cheers

One of my favourites!
Tomorrow is the Edwinstowe 10k will be my third time running this race and it is definitely one of my favourites. Although every time I run it I have a cold and it is the same this year. Still I am hoping to improve on my pb and get under 49 minutes!
My best time for the distance (10k) is just over 45 minutes, Edwinstowe is a trail race and can be muddy, icy or both. This year I think it will be muddy and windy. So it is out with the trail shoes my faithful Adidas Kanadia's.
Got to pick my number up first I am no.658. So will watch 'Match of the Day' and then an early night. Looking forward to the race.
cheers

06/12/09 Edwinstowe 10k Trail Race Report
First of all I was poorly! Bad head cold and should not have run it!
Ok, excuses made!
Suitably drugged up and dressed for a cold race it turned out to be quite warm! But very muddy and if I had not felt so bad it would have been fun.
Over 400 runners took part and like last year it was well organised with enthusiastic marshals playing Christmas music. I managed a sprint finish but couldn’t quite beat the chap in front of me. My time was a slightly disappointing 49.36 but considering my cold and the mud it’s not too bad.
Edwinstowe 10k Stats:
Time: 49.36
Position: 114 out of 433
Condition: Poorly!!

Whoops, I’ve done it again!
Entered another race!
The Mizuno Bolsover Castle 11k had a free Sunday and thought why not! It’s not far and it is one I have not done before. It is on the 13th and should be fun.
Hopefully I will have got over this cold am a bit bunged up so am now not expecting to go very quick on Sunday at Edwinstowe. Looking forward to getting nice and muddy though.
cheers

29/11/09 Clowne Half Marathon Report
First of all BRILLIANT really enjoyed it! The weather was cold and wet but thankfully not very windy. The route was very good hilly but nothing too bad and I think on a clear day the views would be very impressive. It was also nice to meet up with two fellow Southwell Club members who also ran the race.
Felt good through most of the run and I came home in 1:43.44 my third fastest time ever and easily my best after my injury. Mention must be made of the superb running t-shirt given to all finishers very nice and useful!
On Friday I visited my Doctor about the pain in my left calf and guess what? I have varicose veins so he has put me on some tablets and I have to go back in a month to see if they have improved!
This week will consist of a few short runs plus Thursday’s club training session as I get ready for Sunday’s 10k at Edwinstowe. After this Sunday’s performance I am hoping for a decent time.
Clowne Half Marathon stats:
Time: 1:43.44
Position: 204 out of 540
Condition: Very wet but very happy!
